About Me

Treslyn Vassel is a lifelong reader who fell in love with the power of stories at a young age—so much so, she even read books upside down. In Grade 10, after her English teacher added her name to the “wall of authors”, it was official! She knew she was going to be a writer. She went on to spend 15 years in education, where the voices, questions, and hearts of her students became the greatest source of inspiration.

Now, she writes stories for children that invite reflection, spark connection, and stay with readers long after the final page. Nahliya and the Lady is her picture book debut. Treslyn lives with her family in Toronto, Ontario, where she finds joy in nature, travel, and finally fulfilling her place on that classroom wall.
